A Letter to Alumni

February 15, 2008

Dear Brother,

We hope this letter finds you well and that the New Year has proven a prosperous one thus far. The following is an update on the positive developments at Alpha Delta Delta.

The alumni governance structure has been expanded. The Alpha Delta Delta Alumni Advisory Board has been formed to work along side the current Delta Delta Lodge Association to better meet the needs of the Alpha. Primary responsibilities of the Advisory Board include actively advising the undergraduates, developing University relations, managing the Alpha’s website, Calchipsi.org, re-establishing a connection between the Alpha and its alumni, and planning and holding alumni functions. The function of the Lodge Association (the “Corporation”) is to manage the Lodge itself. We hope to eventually add a third leg to this structure in the form of an Educational Foundation which will fund educational programming and scholarships for undergraduates at Delta Delta.

The Advisory Board is a California Corporation, and is fully operational. The chief officers are Nick Gilly ’07 as Chairman and an Alpha Visitor of Chi Psi, Jason Dreibelbis ’07, who is also developing a Los Angeles Area Alumni Association, Tom Vogelheim ’84, Andy Gallo ’06, Karl Schnaitter ’04, Eric Bowers ’04, Michael Moeng ’07, Jon Dadourian ’07, and Nick Lee ’07 as the Graduate Advisor. Some major changes are taking place regarding the Delta Delta Lodge. A new national housing corporation, Spencer Properties LLC., has been formed to own and manage Lodges, the first of which will be the Delta Delta Lodge. A sub-entity of Spencer Properties, LLC named Berkeley Holdings will be created to manage the physical structure. As you may know, the National Fraternity has already held the deed on the Lodge for decades. This new arrangement will allow for more permanent ownership and help to ensure the continued existence of Chi Psi at the Berkeley campus. Once this transition has occurred we will begin laying the foundation for a major capital campaign to renovate the Berkeley Lodge.

On April 26 alumni from various Alphas, parents, and undergraduates are invited to attend our inaugural Founders’ Day Golf Tournament and Banquet. Included with this letter is the registration form which can both be filled out and mailed to the address listed on this letter or submitted online at Calchipsi.org. We are extremely excited; this will be a wonderful event. The Advisory Board has also already held several small events in the form of Alumni Happy Hours that take place at Elephant and Castle Restaurant and Grill in San Francisco at 6pm on the first Thursday of each month. We hope to make this a lasting tradition and encourage any and all alumni from any Alpha to attend.

To aid in our efforts to reconnect with Delta Delta alumni we would greatly appreciate if you would update your alumni profile. If you have any questions or would like to become more involved with the Alpha or Advisory Board feel free to contact Nick Gilly at the phone number below. Take care, and we hope to see you soon.

Yours in the Bonds,

The Alpha Delta Delta Alumni Advisory Board
